Professional Medical Coding-20 weeks
Classes start April 2, 2024!
Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Gary Hall, Wallace Community College, Dothan, Alabama.
A professional medical coder is responsible for reviewing medical records while identifying and translating medical procedures into proper diagnostic codes. The 20-week course of study is designed by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). Students may sit for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) examination after successfully completing this course.
Cost: $2,050: includes tuition, books, one year membership to AAPC, and CPC exam fee
A high school diploma or equivalent
Proof of successful completion of Human Anatomy & Physiology I and Medical Terminology (within 18 months prior to registration date)
Application for Professional Medical Coding (please be prepared to upload documentation as part of the application)
WorkKeys Scores of 5 for Workplace Documents and 4 for Graphic Literacy
Students must be at least 18 years old
This course is approved for WIOA, MyCAA funding, and Sallie Mae Loans.
